Antonis Kalas was born in the Turkish-occupied Koma tou Yialou and since childhood he was talented in painting. He made his debut in 1988 when his paintings were exhibited privately at the gallery "Ora", after a long stay in England where he graduated from art schools and attended lessons in watercolor. His works have been inspired by the Cypriot landscape, the traditional architecture, the people's professions and generally Cypriot nature, tradition and way of life.
